Default Car started, died immediately, now won't start.

1997 LX with 145,000 miles.

I started the car and it killed immediately. I tried to start it again and it won't start. When I tried to start it again, it sounded like the starter was trying but the motor wasn't turning over. Could my oil pump have gone out and it locked up? The oil level is fine and radiator is filled to the top, so there's no water in the engine. Any one have any ideas as to what the problem could be or what I could try? I don't really want to try to start it again and grind the teeth off the starter if it is locked up. Could the oil pump have gone out? The car ran fine the last time I drove it and had been sitting in the garage for about 5 days. I don't have access to the tools it would take to try and turn it over by hand right now.

Thanks for any help!

If the starter won't turn the engine, then the battery may be low.
