eibach and tein both have that boat look to the front. the springs aren't taller it's the way the fender gaps are on the car. I have teins but I bought the coil overs so I could lower the front more to make the gap between the fender and the tire equal front and rear. You already spent the money on the springs if it bothers you that much ground control makes a good coil over or you can spend the money for the tein coilover. I've had friends cut a ring off the top of the spring but I wouldn't suggest doing that.

i have the eibach springs on mines. when installed it the back end was lower. i had to cut a coil off of mines also. full coil over is going to be the best way to go.

i have the same issue with neuspeed race springs. just looking at the side skirts, the car looks level, but when you compare the front and rear wheel gaps, then you notice that the back wheel is tucked and there's still a wheel gap in the front. i'm opting to go GC and picking up some Koni Yellows

Saw this thread and am looking for some info on springs and shocks on a 2000 Accord EX V6. I'm considering the Eibach pro kit springs and dampers from tire rack but if it gives a "boat look" would reconsider other options. What about the H & R sport springs w/ eibach dampers? Any better? Budget for parts and install $1000 would love some suggestions. I'm going for more of a better handling than stock, but not kill your kidneys type of setup w/ the modest drop as an added bonus. Thanks for any help.

That's because KYB GR-2 are OEM replacement shocks, the AGX is what you should have gotten if you were planning on having it be lowered.

Cutting springs is a horrible idea, when you introduce heat to the spring you change its internal properties and throw the spring rates all to ****. You are also not a rocket scientist and probably will not cut them all equally, which would throw it off even more. When you change the spring rates to something unknown and decrease the suspension travel (by removing the coil) you are asking for trouble.

Suspension is one of those things you really should save up and get a good setup. eBay sleeveovers or generic coilovers are not going to give you a good ride quality and will blow **** up easier...especially on stock shocks.

The suspension thread on AccordinglyDone and HondaSociety as well as the suspension section here on HT are excellent resources to read up on what will suite your needs.

My Eibach Pro-Kits were pretty leveled. Even gaps all around, If anything, I would like the front to be slightly higher because I'm already scraping my front bumper... Then again, I have stock 15"...

well i had a lot of thought and i think im going with the tein coil over basic setup. u can adjust the ride height plus im going with some 18 inch rims so it don't have to be that slamed on the floor.

If your budget is a grand, you should have no problem finding a good setup.

Tein basics are a bit less than 800 bucks right now, along with a few other good "one-piece" basic coilovers. You could do Koni Yellows and GC sleeves as well for similar cost.

Trust me, you almost always get what you pay for with suspension parts. Most nice setups with good struts/shocks and "set" drop springs run somewhat close to the Tein basics now, so you might as well get the better product.

DO NOT CUT SPRINGS. IT IS NOT SAFE AND YOUR RIDE QUALITY WILL BE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED.

And sorry, the caps are meant so people can see that message, not in a yelling sense haha.

Anyway, from what I've read the skunk2 sleeves are too stiff and you might as well go with Ground Control sleeves. Unfortunately, you really should get better struts/shocks when you do this though. You will most likely blow your stock stuff, especially if you lower it a lot. Don't waste money on the aftermarket OEM replacement either (Tokico Blue, KYB GR-2, etc.) as it won't be enough.
