Cam choice help and cam question.
What up HT. ok so im looking at two cam sets buddy club spec 3 and blox b what would be better for my setup. I am building this set up over the winter so I have some time to research and save money for the right parts. I have a jdm b16a second gen with intake, header, test pipe, exhaust cam gears. I will also have an intake manifold, valve springs, retainers, hondata s300 and possibly a larger throttle body. I also plan on a new suspension setup and new wheels and tires. My compression will be about 10.7:1. I want to set my rev limit to about 9,000 rpms. I see that the buddy club cams have a better low and mid range but not as good high end as the blox b's. Do i need good low and mid range, i know it would be good for driving around the city, but wouldn't you rather have better topend for racing. I mean when racing you are only gonna be in low and mid range once in first gear. The rest of the race you will be above 6,000 rpms. Yes this is a daily driver and i want it to have a good powerband but i also want the most power for my money and i plan to take it to the drag strip a few times next summer. thanks a lot
nobody can really answer that question for you as its a matter of personal taste. If you look around in the all motor dyno threads though you will find plenty of similar examples. I think you'll likely find that most people on here though won't recommend either cams as they're both reasonably older designs. If I was buying cams I'd be all over the skunk2 pro2's myself.
