92 Prelude No Start, fuel issue?
First off, Hello to everyone.. Name is Josh, and I run an auto repair/tuner shop in Uniontown, PA..
1992 Honda Prelude H23A 5 speed.
Anyway.. this car came to me for a bad radiator and we put one in it.. After it ran a few minutes the top hose was blown off and anti-freeze was everywhere.. Found out the reason that rad was blown was because the head gasket was bad and all the compression was coming from the motor through the coolant passages.
Anyway.. we tore it all down and replaced the head gasket...
PROBLEM: Car would start before, and now there was no fuel pressure... So I did some reason and found that the "main" relay in these cars is basically garbage (Not talking ****, just listening to posts lol) So I swapped them and ran a hot wire to the fuel pump from the black and yellow wire on the relay just to make sure we had power to the fuel pump this time.
Now, the fuel pump runs all the way to the injector bar (Where the banjo bolts the fuel line into the rail) and has plenty of fuel pressure... But no start.. If we spray starting fluid into the car, it'll start and run as long as we spray..
ANY help would be appreciated, I could spend hours trying to figure this damn thing out.. Maybe one of the honda pro's can help me
Thanks a ton!

If its starting on the starter fluid but not on the normal cranking it means its not getting fuel, which means it could be a problem with the wiring to the injectors, or the ignition module on the primary circuit isnt firing correctly. If you have a noid light or a stethoscope check to see if the injectors are clicking, or if the wiring is getting a pulse.
On my h22 that happened too. It would start when you spray starting fluid into the intake manifold. Or it would start then die. I found out my fuel pump was bad, when you turn the key to on, you could hear the fuel pump running, but it wouldnt pump the fuel, I changed it and everything was fine.
did u put everything back in place? TDC etc? sounds way too familar. its not grounded correctly. did a rebuild on a h22/h23 engine. same thing happen. it was a grounding issue and previous owner ran a hot wire to the starter which ruined the starter. check for continuity at starter ground, thermostat and chasiss ground. if its all good then check distributor for voltage.
damm same thing is happening to me i need help i have change everythign distrubutor main relay check for fuel presure is find and spark plugs are knew with the wire some one tould the it can be the ecu whats ya thing my car cranks but wont turn on unless i crank the **** of of it then it turn on and it work find if i shut it of for more the30 m it wont turn on it loses the spark
Check The Small Ground wire That bolts to The Thermostat Housing with

Ok when you refer to the ground on the thermostat housing are you talking about the one that runs through the harness or is there a seperate ground that need to be ground from the housing to somewhere else?
