Looking to take my car to track. Never been to one and not sure what to expect.

For those that track their cars, aside from a helmet, and new brake fluid, what else is recommended? Also, what are the upcoming events and dates for beginner track-goers (is that a word?)

Hehe, never went to any of them, but my friend did, I ride with his S2K at adams. try Adams first, pretty cheap $20 for 3 laps. but the speed ventures is for all day long, in two session.
