VTEC testing questions
i got a few questions before i start testing the solenoid.
- is the vtec solenoid also called as the spool valve?
- is there only 1 wire coming from the vtec solenoid? if yes, is that where i should apply battery voltage and listen if it's clicking?
- one time i saw a manual for a crx with the b16, it was mention there, that the spool valve wire should have a resistance between wire and body ground of 14-30ohm but mine turn out to be 32.14 k ohm(kilo-ohm), does that kind of measurement still applies to the 99 SiR? is there something wrong with my spool valve? did i measure the correct wire?
help.......

first of all, is your vtec not working? not to be an *******, but search and there is all the info. you need on vtec testing, not working, etc, well for sure 99% of it.
i had trouble, and i couldn't get it to work, and finnally did..
when i tested the ohms, it was 20 or something, i don't think anything above 30 is good. ;o

i already did some searching and all i came across is to test it by applying battery voltage, BUT to what wire? do i test on the socket with only one wire in it? or is there other wire? i'm not sure which wire to test and right now the socket i tested is the one with only one wire from the solenoid and it reads 32.14kohm.
anyone???
anyone???
not to be an *** either but by the questions being asked here it seems _Endless_ has a code 21, and has done some quick looking around.
so, yes, 1 wire on the solenoid, apply +12v to it - it is already grounded.
32.12K ohm sounds OK.
what is your problem?
no VTEC?
