next to my ecu. theres a black box right under it. with wires going to it.
can anybody tell me what it is?

 

I believe it is the main relay...Could I get a confirmation please?

 

The main relay is under the dash, by the steering wheel. I do believe the mysterious black box is like a harddrive, it records any major accidents or Abs uses, air bags, driving habits ect, This is to be used by police in case of a involuntary manslaughter Dui charge or something... this may sound bogus... somebody correct ME..

 

I dont think cars that old have those. But some cars do. I remember on the news years ago, some Camaro had hit someone on the freeway and wrecked. They mentioned getting the black box and it read a top speed 125mph only seconds before the wreck.

 

Could be a radiator fan control module.
