Default Civic Manual rack possible?

whats up guys im asking this because i already did the manula rack conversion on the accord rack and driveability is good but theres some play in the wheel with it and i can never get the wheel to stay straight...very annoying when ur as obsessed with ur car as i am.

i was thinking i could fab an actual civic manual rack into the car and use longer tie rod ends and whatnot. whata u guys think?

i took the accord rack i had gutted it of the piston sealed all the lines. ran fuel lines from the feed lines and filled the rack with fluid and put a breather on it

I just looped the lines on my CB7 and filled it with ATF and havnt had any problems with steering. i also used a speed sensor from a 95 because it doesnt have the pump in it and unpluged idle controll sensor. been rolln powersteering free for two years now

I'm with SIRCB7, you should have just looped the lines and added the breather. By removing all those pistons and sealing off all the lines you could have damaged the rack.

ok, so i had another rack laying around...i looped the lines, put a breather on it and filled it with fluid...same thing.

anyone have a n idea why the steering wheel would change positions constantly? even if i take the wheel off and re-center it...it still never stays straight when going straight.

also, theres still play in the wheel when turning slight right...it feels loose.

any thoughts are appreciated...thanks guys.

try checking your steering colum for play then move on to ball joints and wheel bearings if they are loose it changes the goemetry of your suspension. or mabye you got a bad rack.BTW I didnt put a breather in when i deleted my powersteering just looped the lines filled with ATF.

Tie-rods can affect your steering wheel position and feel, are yours ok or are they damaged?
