True Street Rules
At my local track a car in TS class was running a down pipe. I wont say who so I don't get anyone in trouble. I talked to the guy and he said hes done a bunch of events without the exhaust and no one has said anything to him even a e-town where they have some kind of a noise restriction.
Are people not enforcing this or is it one of those rules that just seems to go unnoticed? I'm tempted to run a down pipe aswell. Also a bunch of cars have been trapping well over 135 without nhra license. I guess its all down to who snitches and who doesn't.

I believe the rules say is has to exist underneath the car and behind the rear axle with a muffler. A down pipe is not a muffler. I saw another guy with the dump tubes coming out of the hood. I guess officials are sleeping on the job.
I honestly don't think it matters. I do not run a full exhaust nor a muffler in True Street and I know quite a few others who don't as well. Who gives a **** where your exhaust exits?? Half the cars in True Street would never legally be allowed on the road to begin with, so to me it's a dumb rule to even have in effect.
Like I said I don't wanna get anyone in trouble. Im just wondering if im gonna get kicked out if I do that same.
Maybe not in the north but down in Florida even some outlaw cars are still street legal.
btw the track where this went down was not PBIR.

The rule is kind of stupid but it is a rule. I would hate to see someone get tossed at an event for no muffler. I know Jason Miller will and has tossed people out for no muffler.
Just ask NAH2B

Its funny because the track where this happened was at MIR where Miller is. I just moved here a few months ago and thats why I was wondering if people are more lenient up here.
True, but it is tempting because it saves the hassle of snaking a 4 inch exhaust through a crx.

Which means a downpipe with a muffler on it is legal.
That's the rule as its written! I've been to the northeast nscra events and all the T/S cars had down pipes with mufflers on the ends of them. I know this cause I've look at every car in the class at each event. LoL
Yea thats the way I see it ^^ There are alot of snitches at MIR. My buddy got snitched on and they have gave him a 1 year ban. And some of those guys are pros doing the snitching even during comps.
yep, few years ago at MIR during a NOPI event, there was a protest for not having a liscence for 135mph+, i know who did it and it was pretty shitty, but i guess some people just cant take getting beat.
is this directed to me? no, had i known i needed a liscence i would have gotten one prior, it was the first time the car had trapped that high, and i was ready to turn the boost down and continue racing but they didnt even let us have a warning of "dont do it again" it was a simple, you're dq'd, thanks for wasting your time and hard earned money for nothing.
It costs close to 5k to make the car legal to run in the nines. I would have done the same thing.
