body filler recommendations?
despite the fact that bondo is made by 3m, it is still a terrible product, ask anyone who does any body work proffesionally
Bondo brand fillers are complete garbage. No matter how you knead, flip, and press you can't ever 'mix' out the air pockets. no matter what brand or grit sandpaper you use, you'll use twice as much sanding Bondo. no matter how nicely you apply it and how well you prep the surface underneath, you'll never get Bondo to chemically etch into the metal and provide any corrosion protection.
if you'd rather save $10-$20 on filler, buy Bondo and spend that on the extra sandpaper and extra time required to fill pinholes and re-spread more filler and re-sand everything, and spend more money next time you have to make the same repair because the Bondo cracked out because the underlying surface corroded.
forget the Wal-Mart and Advance Auto Parts way of doing body work, and go buy a can of a good Evercoat filler and a tube of USC Icing and research proper filling and skim-coating techniques... do it the way the pros do.

EVERCOAT!!!! Also if you really want a pro opinion check with your local autobody shop supplier, or autobody shop. Also something i read with the Red hardener is that some times it has a tendency to bleed through.
rage or evercoat are both great products. but as anyone will tell you, try to use it as little as possible. if you can tap it out, panel replace or pull it, do so. do not make the mistake on filling rotted quarters with 1/2 gallon of mud.
sticking to these tips will make your work last a hole lot longer.
