You have a h22 and want a b series? My head hurts grasping that concept right now. You know Mfactory makes a 4.9 final drive for the H trans now. And there is h2b swaps and Pro cams, and Bisi is doing big things with the h22. You can also get 2.4 liters from a H, why even bother with a B?!

main reason is cuz i dont know how to time the motor... the h22 has a hydrolic tensioner and it scares the living **** out of me.. plus the h22 has them weak *** cylinder walls.. basically ive had no luck with h series , and b-series never did me wrong.. so ill go back to what i know and save money and a headache in the long run. and i would love to go h2b but cant put a b-series trans in the shell since it has already been converted to hold the h22 trans..
timing the motor is the same as the b, if done right the hydro tensioner is fine. ive ran h22's for the last 10 years and honestly never had a problem with the tensioners. ive bought a new one every time that i did the belt "generally once a year". all you do is take the bolt out of the bottom of the tensioner and put a small flat head in there and turn it till the rod is all the way in and buy the tool/make your own to hold the tensioner put a bit of oil in it and put the bolt back in and bolt it on then pull the tool off, and the tensioner will expand. thats it.
ive also seen alot of sub 500hp h motors on stock selves. dont freak your self out to much alot of **** is hype but there are some truths to things but they get blown out of proportion.
either way bump for an H!
Overrated.
Go with the h23 manual tensioner. There should be a writeup somewhere in the Prelude forum about it. The h23 tensioner is the ****. I've been running them in two blocks for years now with zero problems. While you're in there, you might as well remove the balancer shaft belt, and related crap. All of this will free up a couple of horses and help you sleep at night.

Huh you have a bolton car and your worried about the walls in it? Its already proven open deck blocks can hold power boosted well over 400whp time and time again
I dont understand why you would even be worried in a all motor car
Unless you making over 250whp
What does the timing have to do with keeping a motor?
Drive up to king motor sports or profuctions and have them time the motor then
Your motor is better than a B and has more displacement
I wonder what morons are feeding you all this crap

Some things are cheaper having somone else do
Theres alot of skilled people at home or techs that will do it on the side.
Or find a decently priced place, its pissing in the wind going through motors and heads...

Not starting **** just stating some facts. Talk to KORMAN on here...he'll tell you.
Thats the stupidest piece of misinformation ever. Why the fvck would you take eliminate the balance shafts? Ever heard of "friction"? Well where I come from, friction is bad for engines and these "balance shafts" you want to eliminate do just that, balance the block and remove some of the unwanted friction this big mother effer produces.

never heard of the friction thing but i thought for sure that the balance shafts were there to help with vibrations. ive always never ran a belt on all the h cars ive had and never ever ever had any problems. hell didnt even notice a difference in vibration un less i had solid mounts.
