Default lil life lesson, run the rubber boot on the front of the tranny

had a lil tranny issue. I was cruising down my street in second gear going about 10 mph as I was on the phone and trying to be quiet so I can hear. all of a suddon on a flat road it sounded as if I scraped going over a speed bump and my cel came on. I immeadiatly put it in neutral and stopped the car, opened the door and looked under the car to see fluid spraying everywhere. trans fluid and its coming fromt the throwout bearing portion of the tranny.

push it home and pull motor and trans and this is what I found when I seperated it.

I thought I blew my tranny because when I was in the car I could not go into any gear, luckly it was just a piece of the case stuck in the shift change assembly.

i could have easily blown my b16 lsd tranny from not running the rubber boot that covers the throw out bearing arm. what caused all this is the bolt directly above the slave cylinder was half way stripped in the block and I threaded a bolt in there anyway, it backed out and fell through the hole and the pressure plate stuck it in my case. it could have easily been much worse but I got lucky just replaced the bell housing case and changed out the synchros for new ones so im good to go.

but all of this could have been avoided if I hadnt cut corners and just ran the damn boot.
