I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX that I recently purchased. It is AT with ABS and SRS. The speedometer, tachometer and odometer do not work.

My first attempt was to replace the VSS. Even with a brand new one, no change. I pulled an instrument cluster at the junkyard, and the only difference was a slight twitch in the speedo needle when starting the engine.

I have since removed the back panel of the original cluster and there are two burnt or blistered looking spots. One directly behind the speedo, and one behind the temp/fuel guage area.

What is the next best course of action? I am not sure what else to check.

 

Get another cluster but look it over before paying for it, or see if you can try it in the parking lot of the junk shop.
