Default Montana D16z6 build back to life!!!

Hello all! Thought I would post in here since I finally am hoping to run the 1320 again one day..Been away from the Honda scene for couple years came back slowly couple months ago but now I am back in all the way..Probably ask alot of questions hope you guys dont mind..Little rusty right now but I got the wd-40 out so hopefully I can get my wheels a turning again.. Dont worry Ill search 1st had a ht account before but couldnt remember password and email was closed lol oh well anyway back to the subject at hand..

Just thought I would share my project with you. I started this back in 05/06 some where in there. Back then goal was to get it as light and fast as possible..So went little crazy..Still my goal light and fast just gonna do it little cleaner this time around..well before I could finish it and track it I went thru a divorce.. Long story short car sat for 4 years at ex's.well in past week the stars lined up just right and I was given the chance to get it back.. Well needless to say I jumped on this chance as I have wanted to finish this project and see what its able to do. So this is how it sits at moment..But there are alot of changes in the works for it..Hope to run it next year..

Motor is a D16z6. Bottom end was sleeved and built by Golden Eagle, Head is completly redone bigger valves springs ported and poloshed with a comp 59300 cam, Neukin exhaust manifold, downpipe, Gt3076r turbo, crane ignition and more have to go thru the receipt book to get all the details been awhile...But will post when I get a chance just wanted to share my excitment with HT guys!!

i know!. i started 5 months ago with a bone stock 95 ex. had to gut the car, weld the cage, build the motor etc...

i think one of the things that might have changed the most is engine management. what program did you have the car running on?

Well pulled the head off today to see how the insides look after 4 years.. Small amount of rust on walls so gonna send block to machine shop and rering it or go with different pistons...

single cams tech has come alongway in 4 years...but how can you have left that car for 4 years parked...if the block is apart get new bearings get a hone looser clearances and go for 6-700hp....speed factory made over 600 on a stock sleeve vitara d16...also look into bisimoto cams...

Been awhile on updates but I have been going back and forth on whether to do the D2B!! Well purchased B tranny yesterday! So I will update with pictures when I get started on this setup, will also put up some pics of my valve cover and catch can when it gets back from powdercoater!!

Hopefully now this project starts coming together so that it can be done by spring!!

Great to see your still after it. Keep us updated on the D2B set up.

FWIW, go with hard mounts for the tranny and engine. I had 1/4" steel plate made for the crank pulley end of the block and a L bracket with gusset on the front of the tranny. Both went forward to where the traction bar mounted. IMO you don't want the driveline moving around while trying to shift gears.

Honestly I would like nothing more than to be somewhere in the 550-640 whp range. Running a low 10 with maybe hitting a very high 9 in the 1320..But wanting and what will happen are of course 2 different things!! But in theory with the changes I am making I should be able to obtain these goals eventually!! Guess I will have to wait and see what happens when I get it all back together and running again..
