Default Yes, another header question.

My cast OEM header has cracked and I have an exhaust leak close to the head. What better time to upgrade to a better one...?
The R is stock btw.

Been researching a bunch of headers but it seems there a trade off with a lot of headers.

As much as a toda v2 header would be nice to have, its just out of the budget.

Rage/hytech- needs a different tranny brace
RMF replica- needs cutting of the stock shroud
tri-y's- not interested in ebay headers
hytech, smsp, toda- out of the budget unless I can find a used one...
spoolin performance toda replica- don't know much about, emailed then.

Other suggestions? Don't want to spend more than $600.

First off, if you remove that trans brace, you do NOT have to put another in there.

If your looking to save the budget, and looking for decent gains, look no further than the JDM 4-1. You can usually find them used for around $300.

another option is the TDM hytech rep header off eBay. $180 is decent for the cost. I used them on the track car and was happy.

All of the headers you have mentioned have a 2.5 collector...Are you planning on replacing the cat too?

If not, why not just pick up the DC 4-1 USDM ITR header, you can pick one up on ebay for less than $350 shipped...

Kind of a last option if I can't find anything else.

Ill check it out, but I doubt I'd order a 'ebay header'. I'd rather spend more for better quality.

Planning on getting a full 2.5" exhaust eventually.

Just outside my price range. Still need to pay for shipping to Canada on top of that...

Even though it was sold on ebay, I'm really really pleased on how well put together it is. It's not like all those ebay headers you see or hear about. It's stainless and the welds are very nice.

Not trying to jack the OP's thread but how's the ground clearance? And, will it clear the A/C compressor?

The narrow b series from KiddRacing is what I am using and it provides a good low end torque. I love it imo. Very cheap as well.

That's the RMF replica.

How much cutting of the oem fan shroud did you have to do?

I am using a blox 2.5" adjustable test pipe mated to a 2.5" KTeller piping. All cutting was done to the test pipe which was the least of worries.

Didn't mean the exhaust...was wondering about the fan shroud. The black plastic cover around the rad fans.

Oh sorry about that. Yea I had to do a little cutting on the shroud and blades. Thats something you gotta do with other headers anyway. Plus my engine doesnt overheat by that either.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't that header out perform all others for the $$? And yes it is a really nice looking header.

Header looks great! But Im trying to avoid changing my stock fans. You had to go to a civic sized rad...

Looks like my only option to keep the stock fans is either find another usdm header, or go with a jdm header...

All I can think to tell you is search Vtec Kidd's header threads. I just hate the "just do a search" crap.
