Default FS: 1993 Civic DX hatch Captiva Blue track monkey

It's time to sell my 1993 Civic DX hatch. I wanted a track toy that was inexpensive and fun, so the EG hatch made lots of sense. I also wanted one in Captiva Blue, which took quite a while to find in non-Si trim (more helmet clearance without the moonroof). I found this car last year, and it already had the engine/trans combo, but it was in need of lots of work to get it track-ready. Several months of work and a smoking credit card later, I have this great little hatch...the only problem is that the motorcycle bug has hit me again, and I have 2 bikes in the garage now, which makes for a very annoyed wife. I need to sell one of my toys to keep the peace, so I've decided to put the Civic up for sale. Here are the specs:

ENGINE SHORTBLOCK:
JDM B20 block bored to 85mm
RS Machine ITR-spec pistons
Probe forged I-beam rods
ARP rod bolts (installed with stretch gauge)
Crank girdle (forget which brand)
Block guard (also forget which brand)
GSR oil pan & B16A pickup
Sheetmetal skidplate on oil pan
Whole assembly is balanced and built with OEM bearings

ENGINE TOP END:
P8R head from JDM Orthia (84mm chambers vs. the typical 81mm)
Crower 404 cams
Crower valve springs & retainers
Blox cam gears (new)
Gates Racing timing belt

ENGINE MISC:
HASport CNC machined engine mounts
P75 ECU (tuned with Crome by Dom)
Circuit Hero velocity stack/K&N Filter
65mm throttle body
Blox intake manifold
Endyn breather tank
DC Sports ITR-style 2.5" header
2x 24" glasspacks to Flowmaster muffler

DRIVETRAIN:
USDM ITR transmission, completely rebuilt by Evan at 360 Imports
Fidanza 7lb aluminum flywheel
New OEM GSR clutch
Fastline Performance shifter

SUSPENSION:
Koni yellow sport shocks
Ground Control coilovers with standard rates
Blox rear LCA's
Neuspeed front strut bar
Z10 traction bar
Buddy Club front and rear camber kits
New OEM trailing arm bushings
Spherical bearings in the compliance bushing housings (custom made by Kingpin Machine)

BRAKES:
New 15/16" master cylinder
DC2 front knuckles with new balljoints and wheel bearings
Rebuilt OEM Nissin front calipers
New Hawk HP+ pads front
99 Si rear disc brakes with OEM pads
New Goodridge SS brake lines all around
Blox extended wheel studs all around
Fresh Ate Gold brake fluid

INTERIOR:
99 GSR front seats
93 Si rear seat
Black dash and door panels
HKB steering wheel hub and Momo wheel
Custom machined Delrin shift ****
No radio (hey it's a track car)

EXTERIOR:
Some eBay black housing headlights (would like to put stock ones on)
eBay Vision clear corner lenses
JDM SiR front lip with new hardware
Rear hatch hook from 94-95 Civic

KNOWN ISSUES:
Drivers door doesn't lock from the inside (works from the outside with the key)
One good sized dent in the passenger side quarter panel
Typical scratches and scrapes for a 17 year old car with 171k miles

FINAL NOTES:
All the work was done at 360 Imports in Vancouver WA. Overall the car accelerates, turns, and brakes very well. Evan commented that it has about 90% of the pull that his J32 Civic had. The Hawk pads dust quite a bit, so you need to keep up on your wheel cleaning. The tune on Crome was done with a wideband on the street over several hours of driving, but it has yet to be dynoed. If you wanted to get every last drop of power out of it, I'd recommend having it retuned on the dyno. The car doesn't have a cat, but the tags are still good until July 2011 so if you're in Oregon that will carry over, and you have some time to install a cat if you want to drive it on the street. The car still has ac but needs a belt. I can't guarantee that it works, it might need to be recharged. Despite the dents and fading, the body is surprisingly clean considering its age. Oregon title is clean and in my name, ready to go. Yes, my lawn is dead.

Asking $4700 with OEM alloy wheels (sorry, I'm keeping the Sterns for my next car). I can work on the price if you have your own wheels.
Please PM me if you're interested in having a look at the car. I am located in the Beaverton area.

Here are the pics that I have for now. I will get some more this weekend.

x100000, How do you like the 404's? Just trying to get opinions on people who actually run non-VTEC B-series cams for my build, beings people who post up experiences isn't terribly common.. GLWS

Thanks....yes it's tons of fun to drive, throttle response is great and the ITR gearing makes it even better.

I had a B20 EG with 403's about 8 years ago...it never got tuned so it idled like crap and wasn't as smooth as it could be, but at WOT it was a beast. That car had an ITR trans too, but the engine was stock otherwise. This engine is built plus the 404's are bigger, and it's been tuned properly. It's got about 80-90% of the pull that my friends J32 EG hatch has (he felt the same way), plus you can actually close the hood and run the AC .

Oh, and new pics were added tonight!

Bump for a cool car...this engine setup is awesome.

Don't mind the lack of trans bracket for reverse switch plug- was gone before I worked on it

Since I sold my 330i a few weeks ago this has been my DD. I even take my son to school in it (which he loves). The AC isn't hooked up so defogger can take a while to work, but it gets decent mileage as long as you keep your foot out of it. I have 1/3 tank left now and about 200 miles on the trip meter, which isn't bad since I do about 90% street driving.

If I were to keep it as a long-term DD, I'd put on a quieter exhaust (with a cat), hook up the AC, and maybe get it tuned on the dyno. Other than that it's just about fine, since it currently has a CD player in it (had to give up and put one in since I've been driving it so much).

What car are you trying to sell?
