Default most likely the transmission but hopefully not

When i drive the car normal it runs fine but when i get on it around 2k the car jerks and loses power for a second or two then catches and goes. I replaced a bad battery a while back and it worked a lot better for a day or two then started acting up again. I even tried that additive by lucas. The car is an automatic and i'm trying to figure out what's causing the issue, hopefully nothing big since i'm not on a very big budget :/

On a side note i'm getting a single click when i try to start the car and it doesn't start until like the 20th try.

Check your connections to the starter. I had a loose connection cause serious breakup on hard acceleration before.

First, I left my crystal ball at work so I'm not sure what year/model/eng (how many miles on helps sometimes) we are trying to guess at.
Have the egr posrts been cleaned?

that'd help man. i had the same prob recently on my 01 (129k miles). had goodyear check it out and they pulled a code. they recommended i go to
-honda shop, who wanted me to buy a new tranny ($4200), or
-transmission shop, who said it looked fine.
the transmission shop looked at it for free, also. see if u know anyone in ur town

I checked both the wires to the starter and cleaned them regardless. I still get the problem. Could it be another connection on the same circuit?

Make sure all of your grounds are good. The one that goes from the thermostat to the chassis is a pretty common problem. Also check the ground on your battery.

Never never never use that Lucas stuff. Our Honda transmissions cant handle that stuff and it could damage the transmission.

Yeah Bobistheoilguy.com did a test and that stuff didn't hold up well... but the real question is was it that additive? OP you just said you added one, but didn't say what for. If it was the fuel injector stuff, your fine as that's the good stuff. Be more specific.

Also, what maintenance has been done for the ignition system? Distributor, plugs, plug wires? What condition are they in?

I replaced the ground wire from the battery to the tranny already and that little one that just goes to the frame next to the battery. I'll check the other one.

Let me see if I got this right....a 95 4 cyl with an auto trans....and you have a hesitation around 1800~2000 rpm's. Have the egr passages been cleaned? Asked once already.
Of course I'm assuming "when i get on it around 2k the car jerks and loses power for a second or two then catches and goes" means engine power and not electrical (lights, gauges, ect)

EDIT: As far as the starting issue. Is this everytime or just after sitting for a while? Have you had the battery and or the starter tested? Have you checked/cleaned the small wire on the solenoid?
