Icon2 B18c5 ITR Block

I have just purchased an ITR Block.

it is bored .020 over and then pistons I am planning to buy for it lower the C/R to 9:1

But I wasnt sure what type of Heads to get or where to get them? I wanna keep the C/R at 9:1 so that I can turbo this beast up to 450 hp.

I also was told I should have it sleeved but I wasnt sure.

This is my first swap and all i have bought is the block.
What parts should I get for it?

I wanna do it right the first time but not spend too much.

A B16A head would be cheapest and easiest to find.

1. No, also you should have some porting done to the head.

2. Yes.

3. Keep the oil cap. Lol.

aha.

I appreciate it rickkane.

Where would be the best place to find the head. I've seen a couple places online and they try to rape you on the price. and **** ebay. I dont trust that place.

I can tell you are new at this....you should do a LOT of research, there is a lot to know for what you want to do. I'll touch on a couple things regarding this thread.....

A B18C5 block is just a P72 block found in 3 applications. Integra GSR, Integra and civic Type R models

There are only two vtec heads made that fit that block, the gsr head known as a P72 which is popular for boost applications because of its smaller quench area which is less prone to detination, and then the PR3 which is found on both B16A and Integra/Civic Type R engines

As far as performance goes, both heads are nearly identical with in a couple hp...so get what ever you find the better deal on. Find one used on a local car forum or jdm distributor. Cost should be $250-400

Yeah I am a n00b this will be my first build and then after I finish this i wanna build up my d16y8...anyways

I ordered 12 books on b series and engine swaps because I know nothing or how it works. But i soon will.

For my application of boosting and keeping C/R low how would i know which head to go with and which camshafts, springs and valve retainers and such?

And polish and porting? what does that do?

God, I dont wanna sound stupid.....
