Please don t say just upgrade to a 5 speed because I know there will be one person who will say that. But back to the topic. What is a good high performance torque converter for a 99 civic dx? I already have plenty done to the car and I actually want some of them additions to show. Also along with the usual additons i have a jet performance ecu. Now im assuming this job will cost around $500 labor because they have to drop the transmission? Correct me if im wrong.

ehh, im sorry but im going to be that one person. Auto honda transmissions can be little bitches. They tend not to like being screwed with, or haveing a lot of power put threw them. And I am speaking from experience, my friend has blown several of them. Turbo'd y8.
Not to metion, there is no aftermarket ecu or chip to my knowledge that will work with a honda auto. Hondata doesnt make anything.

But to help you, i search for a few minutes and came up with 0 high performance converters.

I very highly suggest you swtich the car to a 5spd, the swap really isnt that difficult and most parts are readily availible in most areas.

The only company I know that makes any performance automatic stuff for Honda is Levelten. And the stuff is stupidly expensive. Its still going to be slow and cost more than swapping to a 5 speed. That and if you had a 5 speed you could be running a chipped and dyno tuned OBD1 Honda ECU for what you paid for that Jet ECU.

How much would it cost to swap to a 5 speed then. I was actually planning on doing that in the future. I was gonna do a complete engine and transmission swap to a jdm b18.

If you're doing it at the same time as a B-series swap the extra cost is minimal. The only real extra work above and beyond the normal stuff associated with a B-series swap is putting in the pedals and doing a little extra wiring. Prices will vary.
