keeping the single cam but need some help
i was looking at the parts i want an the body work that needs to be done and im not gonna have enough for a h22 swap and putting the motor in so what are some things to make the single cam a lil faster i have a lx non vtec motor so i kno theres not much! im gonna replace my intake, headers and exhaust is there anything else? i got high miles so im not trying to boost yet but its there any pistons or cams and stuff like that i could use?
well there is the g22 swap. which is the h22 head on the f22 bottom end. would be good because it is DOHC and has vtec, so it would really give you a nice power pick up. could also use some nice aftermarket intake manifolds at that point, or the euro-r intake.
also could just do the f22b1 head swap so you have vtec. do intake/exhaust/headers. maybe a small cam.

It depends on how much you are willing to tear down the motor. There is the usual I/H/E. You can also do a camshaft, flywheel possibly, and a good tune. Anything more than that and you have to disassemble things.
If you have a CB7 with an F22a you can swap in an a6 or H23 intake manifold with dual runners.

Cam
head work
intake manifold
internals (pistons + machine shop work)
and a tune
or boost and a tune
A complete H swap would be ideal but you said that was out of your budget. So if the H swap is out of your budget your probably looking at NO2 being your best bang for your buck.
What is your budget? That might give people the ability to actually give you a list of affordable options for you. Because even just buying and installing new pistons can get expensive.
Pistons - $300-$500 (+ hone or bore)
Cam - $300-$400 (+ valve train components for anything more than level/stage 1. that's another $400+)
Tuning - $300-$500
