Best video game to drive an ITR?
Forza 3, naturally. GT5 has been announced for a November 2nd release date, and it's expected to trump anything FM3.
Though I have yet to play a game where FWD is not miserable to drive in comparison to a decent RWD car (a lot like real life, I suppose)

I actually re-purchased GT3 for the PS2 the other day so I could study the ring as there is a chance we might be vacationing over in Germany. None the less that **** didn't work, I could of swore PS3's were backwards compatible.
I'm actually over the thought of GT5, I don't know why they can't add any real US tracks outside of Daytona, Infineon or Laguna. I'm going to get a rig and start playing iRacing so I can at least get the feel for tracks that I haven't been to or ones that I want to continue to study after leaving. (they have tracks like vir, road atlanta, road america, watkins glen, barber, etc and also still has daytona, laguna & infineon)

Only models of PS3 that are backwards compatible with PS2 were the 20GB, 60GB, 80GB (4 USB model only). The 20GB and 60GB played nearly all of the PS2 right out of the box. The 4 USB 80GB required you to download software from the Playstation Store (at least it was free) and played most PS2 games through software emulation.
yea, nurinburgring is not in gt5 prologue, but ill tell you right now, no one ever knows the ring, except for people that grew up around there.
most fun ive had in a itr in a video game is the dc5 in prologue on eiger noord. i am just incredibly fast in that car, on that track.

I kept my PS2 just for the fact that I didn't like how the PS3 starting doing backwards compatibility.
Plus...there are just so many good PS2 games. It still deserves a spot of its own. Same goes for my Xbox. The 360 won't play everything, and some it does play it doesn't play exactly right.

Wow... I had no idea that driving simulators have evolved to become this realistic. I have played GT1 -GT4, adn although the visual effects are done fairly well, the audio effect kind of sucked. None of the cars really sounded like the real cars. At best, they were "close", but still too synthetic and electronic sounding.
Another thing I didn't like was the roboticness of the competitor cars. They aways traveled together in a pack, and always followed the race line with an occasional deviation here and there, but nothing too realistic.
In this video, the C6 really did sound like a c6 and the competitor cars didn't seem too robotic. Seems like a well done simulator
