Default Crank Pulley Worry.

So i spent a day getting the d16t8 to TDC both the crank and the Cam gear and i finally got it where i wanted it. I noticed the tensioner was too tight so i loosened up the lil tensioner bolt through the plastic cover and i got the belt onto the cam gear and i turned it a few times as recommended. I Noticed every time i turned a full turn it would make a click sound as if something was hitting the plower timing belt cover as it turned. Anyways i put the motor in the car and today im goingg to torque the crank. Im nervous about starting the car now. IDK if it'll keep making that clicking sound during the timing belt rotation..has anyone had this problem i really dont wanna have to take this cover off again..its a pain in the ***.

Does anyone's motor make a big click sound on a full turn of the crankk?

my d16z6 sounds smooth, just the sounds of the valves. if its making a clicking noise, id pull off the cover just rotate it again and again like your doing and look for contact or where that sound is coming from. no belt can really "hit" a cover, it can rub up against it (unless a part is "out of round" then intermittent cantact can occur). but a click could be a tentioner that got some moisture inside and some calcium/rust built up. maybe you over torqued the tentioner? your motor is #1 tdc on the intake stroke yeah? did you ever do a valve lash? if so receck torque on the nuts. even little clicks can cause big problems down the road so your smart for being cautions.

Thanks for the help stickboks

Here's the thing i notices about it this morning, when i turn the crank pulley myself it makes one Big CLICK sound whenever im BDC not TDC. So i rotate it and when it hit BDC i here a loud CLICK or a pop. Im gonna try and get some video footage of it but im a lil cautious about this. I dont feel like removing the crank pulley again after i just had someone torque it to spec for me.

I'm turning it clockwise i just realized the timing belt turned counter clockwise..could this be the reason for the click at BDC?

yeah that doesn't sound right. i would pull it apart and check out the tensioner. does the belt get loose after the click? i wouldn't chance leaving it that way

oh wow thats shitty :/ but at least you dont need to take the bottom end apart, you can pull the head and fix it pretty easy.

Yeah, thank God for that. Im just worried that maybe whatever caused this bent valve also ****ed up the pistons maybe..like maybe it's a root to other problems once i take the head off. If it's nothing else wrong with it then i'll just use the valve from my old motor. Onle other issue is im not 100% on valve adjusting but im sure i can find resources.
