Post is it a ricer?

I was driving down main street and i heard the typical low sound of a fartcan. well i stop at the light and a civic comes up and i notice its a really small canister.. we both stopped at hardees so i talked to him, now would any of you consider a cherrybomb glasspack on a civic rice? it actually sounded good

ricer- well the definition comes from different views from different walks of life, to me this term is defined as a person who puts a cheap muffler dat produces no power wutsoever, graphics on the car, painted dash/trims, painted wheels, neon lighting, bodykits, u can still have mods to the engine but it can still be a ricer. to me that guy u mentioned is a ricer, that exhaust isnt authentic, it is fake n cheap.

If your car sounds like angry bees, then it is rice.

Cherry bombs have been around forever. They were ricey when guys with 6 cylinder novas and autozone traction bars and air shocks way jacked up came by the Big Block Crew. Rice was there it was just called garbage or more correctly junk. Added items to a vehicle that degrade their looks or performance. While the people who participate in such are enthusiastic they are often misguided. Back to cherrybombs or glasspacks. They are cheap but as effective on a mostly stock engine anycar as any brand name muffler. I can still respect the kid who saved two of his part time grocery store checks to buy a cherry bomb from autozone and have it mated to a "custom" local exhaust shop exhaust and be prouud of it.. May not be my style but whatever if you dig it then rock it is what I say. The person with a full Japanium exhaust system that cost 1300 bucks on a D16y7 bolt on ride is sillier to me. I bet either would sound horrible. I am the anti bolt on though.

To clarify, I paid $430 for my Apexi WS2 which is "full japanese" and certainly didnt cost me $1300....
Its basically the anti-rice of exhaust systems...

Indeed. It is possible, just rare for sure.

A guy had an Accord for sale about 6 months ago in my area that he figured would sound good if he removed the stock catback (and the cat) and replaced it with a straight-pipe, a cherrybomb, and then diverted the exhaust to either side where they would exit right before the back wheels.

Needless to say, it sounded... disgusting. Definitely Grade-A rice.

Haha, yeah. That's a "You know you own an Accord if..."

For some reason a lot of people think the only car Honda makes is the Civic, so that's the only name they know. It definitely gets old, as they then typically throw it in the same category, which it is NOWHERE near.

Cherrybombs are from Autozone a lot of the time.

I think they're rice, but besides a private giggle you probably won't hear anything out of me if you had one.

Honestly, you're going to get insulted no matter what's done to the car. do what you like and screw anyone who doesn't like it.

The '92-'00 Civic section gets a lot of bad ones too. A lot of threads that just plain don't belong or threads posted because "this sections gets the most traffic".

'Fartcan'.....lol.
'Ricer' is Japanlands version of our 'boyracer', but if the boy had the shunt under the hood to match the grunt from his rude then he aint ricer, hes just a loud-*** tuner!
