First off i have a 93' DX coupe. So i go turn on my car and wtf? My SRS light is on. I tried resetting it but nothing. Wouldnt even turn off. Went to hit the horn it doesnt work either? I recently did a wire tuck and no problems till this.. any ideas?

 

bad clock spring - behind steering wheel. dealer only part.

BUT FIRST check all fuses, just to rule them out.

 

i got the same issue my srs light is on, and my horn doesnt work and my steering wheel doesnt lock. I havent dont much of anything to figure it out, but im curious what the problem is as well.

 

X2 on clockspring, if you had cruise control that would also be affected

 

honda wants damn near 300 bucks for the stupid *** thing.. ill just stick to revving my **** up for the horn

I tried calling the junks yards, they dont have anything of course, all the eg's are stolen not crashed! is there any other car that you could one from that would fit?

 

I was having a similar issue with my srs. It was the clock spring. Just went to the junkyard and snagged another one and issue is fixed. Try that first. I wouldnt buy a new one from the dealership if you dont even know if it will fix it.

 

Well I checked fuzes and there good. Dont know if the wheel locks. Ill go check thay out now. And I don't have cruise. So I'll get a damn clock spring and hope that works. Justin you'll have to show me sometime.

 

Check to see if all of the plugs in the clockspring are plugged in (someone might have had an aftermarket steering wheel and not plugged the air bag and horn back in).

 

Yea, I can show you. Its an easy fix. If you grab one from the junkyard its a cheap fix.

 

yeah i snagged one on ebay for 40 bucks found out my steering wheel doesnt lock because the arm that comes up off the ignition housing was cracked clean in half lol.

 

well the car has never had an aftermarket steering wheel and the wheel still locks? family is in town for the week so ill get to it when they leave..

 

You never know, maybe a previous owner was messing with the steering wheel. Wont hurt to check, and its free lol
