You'll be better off with 16x7, so you can choose from tires in 205/45-16 as well as 215/45-16. If you get 16x8, you can only use 215/45-16, and tire availability is very limited.

Agree. Im guessing you want to do the stretched tire thing. To each his own but if you want any type of safety and performance you will go with a proper size that has performance tires available.
