Default Installed J's racing intake, some thoughts...

well i picked up this bad boy today thx to jdmhondaparts and i must say it is BEAUTIFUL.

the car pulls harder from about 4000rpm and up. the throttle response is rediculous. it is MUCH quieter than when i had the AEM. overall i highly recommend this setup if you are willing to spend the money. i know it probably added minimal HP but hey, it feels alot quicker and responsive than the AEM and spoon setup. i still wanna try the comptech icebox, but until than this one's a keeper

the carbon fiber piece that comes over the filter cone actually came with it and yes it is real cf. i do agree about the heatshield thing but that will come later when i have time.

the radiator fluid bottle is actually a ricey weapon R resivoir tank but i can't find my stock one so i'm keeping it

i like this system much more than the AEM. the AEM gets loud and annoying but the sound on this you can actually hear a deep sound of air sucking in. i HIGHLY recommend this.

do you know if you could use this intake along with the stock airbox (or for that matter, icebox)? doesn't look like it, by the postion of the filter, but just wondering.

no way. the inlet where the cone fits on the intake is WAY too big for a stock filter. plus the intake itself is too long from the looks of it to use a stock box or comptech.

Warm air???
warmER air than a CAI. short ram = better throttle response. good for road racing and mid-range power(although dyno graphs have shown that CAI's can produce the same midrange numbers).

whenever i get mine, i hope to dyno it.

btw: mike did you get to dyno it since you got them in?

im not trying to hate..but the filter looks like on of those cheap ractive filters....carbon fiber print and not real CF...but even so, you an easily build a ram air kit or cold air induction...I never thought the big intke arm made that much of a difference...but if itr's love it, then how about for gsr's...hmm.?

Real CF huh? Just like the real CF dash trims you got with the ITR?
