D16Z6 Intake Manifold into a CRX Si question
Hey all, I've got a pretty simple question that I hope you can answer for me. I've done the searching and I'm still slightly confused about how to swap a D16Z6 Intake Manifold onto my D16a6/D16y8 Mini-Me (Still OBD0). I know the manifold bolts right up and I have the fuel rail, but what about the throttle body? It looks totally different than my a6 one and I was wondering if there was anything special that I need to do for it to work? Thanks for the help and sorry if this has been asked a million times before.
you can use any tb from any b,h,f,dseries(new ones) though. stick with a y8 or z6 tb trust me. only problem i ran into when i installed my z6 IM on my a6 with the fuel line had to be from a z6 that was it.
tps wire needs to be lengthen the map sensor on the tb will fit and work. the purge cut solenoid can be removed and capped everything else lines up and the coolant lines to the iacv fit. the iat sensor same one everything plugs in
Hey, thanks a lot for the information. I can't wait to get this stuff on my car, as of right now my a6 throttle body is sticking and getting stuck so this upgrade will fix that and help my car breath better as well!
I don't mean to post again... But after inspecting my d16z6 throttle body, it appears that the MAP sensor is broken off of it! Is there a work around for that? Can I just use my a6 one? Should I go junk yard treasure hunting?
Yeah sure you can use the A6 TPS. There all the same but you will have to calibrate it. I would suggest calibrating it while its off. 100 times easier.

go to the junk yard bro cause if not there will be a vacuum leak. u could use the a6 but that tb doesnt have the extra nipple for the a6 one.
I've got a couple of reasons for swapping it over. More power is the main reason though. I've heard plenty of people claim that the d16a6 intake manifold doesn't flow nearly as good as the newer d16 manifolds, and since I am running a d16y8 head I thought it would really help out. Also, my a6 manifold and throttle body act up every now and then (throttle sticks, funny idle, weird stuff like that) so I thought I'd just swap on a z6 manifold and see if that fixes any of my little problems.
Also, I have one... so why not?
