NSCRA Round 4: The Heat is On! Postponed due to Weather

Lake Worth, Fl, August 26th, 2010 - For Immediate Release
Due to the severe weather forecast caused by Hurricane Danielle and Tropical storm Earl for the West Palm Beach / South Florida area, The National Sport Compact Racing Association officials have postponed Round 4 of the NSCRA South East Regional championship series at Palm Beach International Raceway that was scheduled for Saturday August 28th and Sunday August 29th.
This decision was made with much regret, but was based on the advice from the National Weather Service and South Florida meteorologists.
The NSCRA has been in contact with meteorologists throughout the week. The feedback given was that the worst of the weather will pass through Saturday and Sunday leaving it unrealistic for an event completion.
A strong line of thunderstorms with the potential of tropical force winds will be coming through the West Palm Beach area Saturday August 28th and Sunday August 29th.
Saturday’s forecast has scattered thunder storms with a 60% chance of rain
Sunday's forecast has scattered thunder storms with a 60% chance of rain.
With this information and passed experience the NSCRA feels it is best to postpone the event as of today in hopes of saving our Racers and fans from travel and expenses with the weather looking so uncertain.
NSCRA officials will release re-scheduled event date via press release on www.nscra.com no later than August 31.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing everyone on the re-scheduled event date.

NSCRA can't win, it's friggin beautiful out today...i think the cancellation was premature although i hear that the finances couldn't handle another rain out.
Sucks it was cancelled early like that. I got a hotel for fri an sat night. Was at the track last night and it was nice and dry. A little cool too.
Anyways these were pics from my hotel room today at 12pm and at 7pm. Beautiful day to race.

Who knows though, it may rain like hell tommorow. But then again this is SoFla and you know that it rains every afternoon like clockwork no matter the month. It's nothing new. Oh well.

I do see where NSCRA guys are coming from, whether it rained in some parts of florida or not the chance was very high and tomorrows still another day...it could pour all day tomorrow. We were out at Countyline running today and into the night without seeing a drop. It just sucks that the organization can't handle another rain out so they had to be so cautious. While we all spend a lot of time, money and effort to make the event, they spend even more trying to give us a place to race so i'll have to go with their judgement this time around if it means they will be around next year and years to come. In the end, we'll be out there supporting regardless.
I was at Lakeland last night for the JDM UP and it pour most of the night and they had to reschedule the event for another day then at CFRC it was rained out as well.

But Kevin said it best. So no hard feelings to the NSCRA. Well be here to race the next date
