first off, 91 base model civic hatch with 91 b18a1 LS swap, 5 spd, pr4 ecu.
Ive been driving it for months without any trouble at all, the reverse lights have never worked that i know of, now the other day i just realized that while the shifter is in reverse and i turn the key off, take it out, the engine will stay running untill i take it out of reverse... this doesnt happen if i unplug the rev light switch on the trans. anyone ever ran into this one before or even know where to begin to look? obviously there is a problem in the wiring and the reverse light switch is backfeeding somewhere to power the ecu or relay but im a little stumped at where to start. I did the DPI-MPFI conversion mjyself and am very good with wiring, i trust my own work but went back over it again yesterday just to double check and found nothing from the conversion to be the problem.
anybody have a diagram of that area of the wiring?

 

Someone has used a wiring harness from a different year model on your car. I had the same issue when doing a DPFI-MPFI conversion with a harness that I bought for the conversion. You will need to repin at the driver's side connector. Follow the reverse light wires from the transmission reverse switch(Black/Green & Yellow/Black I think, it's been a few years) and repin to the same color on the other plug at the connector next to the brake booster.

 

Thanks, makes sense now, i bought the dpi harness online unsure what year it was from. Someone started the swap before giving up and giving me the car for free and threw away the original DPI harness.
