door lock issues.
ok just got a 97 accord with an h22 (has nothing to do with the question at hand)and my passenger side door locks stopped working.when you lock or unlock they make a pretty loud kinda humming noise but do nothing.any ideas???also is it normal for the engine to tick so loudly.i have seen several other h22's that make the same noise but i was wondering if it was normal.i have heard it could be valve lash, lifters, rockers etc.but would like to know what causes it and how i can quieten it up a bit.any help is greatly appreciated.
It may have something to do with the door lock actuator. I just made a post about how to fix it, it's on the last page of the "off topic accord project".
here is a video link for the ticking in the motor.any help or opinions are greatly appreciated.it seems a little louder than it really is due to the mic of the camera being so close just keep it in mind.

Here is what you have to do. remove the door panel and remove the door lock actuators. Open the outer casing and remove the top. Look inside and you should see a loose spring. You need to shim the spring and put it in compression. I use machine screws to do this. Once the spring is compressed put the assembly back together. Reinstall and it will work.
