900+hp, Hydraulic factory rocker help!
Im getting things started early for next season and have a question. For of you who are in the 900+hp range or have been, have you seen and major wear on the the factory rockers, cams, (web,pro1's,kelfords, etc...). Im concerned about maybe breaking a cam at this level, due to boost pressure etc... I know people are out there doing this and I know a roller setup is the way to go on this but not wanting to really spend that kind of money less I really have to. I really trust my source who told me to go this route but am still wanting to hear from some others as well. Sorry, im not the best at explaining things all the time, hope it makes sence.
thanks

jasonp is right. The oil that you use really makes a difference in the head.
I've got spare OEM rockers is you ever need one. I switched over to the Web setup, so I don't need them.

The cool thing about the Web is that you spread the valve spring pressure out over 2 lobes and it keeps the motion separate...that is how the rollers should be. You can get pretty aggressive on opening and closing the valve though with the roller
since you guys are on the topic of roller vs pads...which can be used more on a street/track car?...will the ferrea rollers rockers be able to take alot of street miles...or are both system race only ..
the rollers would be a nightmare on the street. ive had my ferrea roller set up in my head for like 5? years now. everything still looks brand new. put new springs/retainers in it not too long ago. havnt used the web stuff
im guessing cam wear is less on rollers than on pads...the web cams are more money than the rollers why run them over the ferrea rollers...i know driveability under 5k rpms must suck....but you cant expect factory driability on a race car...i just wanna be able to take out for a spin...a car wash...etc..
Rollers are not as good.... in my opinion.
You get more contact area with a web pad vs. the roller. Think about what that means....
Less stress on the cam shaft
Less stress on the springs
You have one lobe per valve which means you can do some trick stuff with tuning the head now....
That's very dependant on the grind.... not the fact that it's a roller setup.

Explain how a roller vs pads has any effect on valve spring wear......camshafts beingthe same.
