Anybody fab their own shifter linkage and change rod?
I'm increasingly more annoyed by the stock change rod (13) and the change extension (14), shown in the image below. There's got to be a cleaner, more serviceable, performance way to do the shifting. I find I'm more and more irritated by the little knuckle that goes on the transmission (the one that pin #28 goes through on the image).
Before I make my own and re-invent the wheel, has anybody here scratch built one? Got pics?
I've got an idea in mind and am ready to build one. Just curious if any of you palooka's gave it a shot. Seems like the drag race guys are the most "fab friendly".

That funny cause i just ordered #14 and #13 yesterday along with some energy suspension bushing for it. I saw but don't remember where some one did mod it and was suppose to work good. Ill look for the link to it. I wanna say i saw it on FB.
I was looking into this...http://www.wickedinnovation.net/prod...ification.html
Yeah I like that idea.
I would like to do it myself though.
Damn 135 seems kinda high.
Wonder if they will sell you just the part?

Well, glad we are discussing this. that idea is WAY better than the complicated idea I had worked out.
Let's keep discussing.
still interested in shifter ideas.

Why wouldn't it? I'm pretty sure it's exactly what they use, just theirs is probably a different brand.

compare the pictures in that thread to the pictures of the jegs joint.

with solid motor mounts you can get rid of the stabilizer bar, i believe davef has did this before with a little modification.
or you can just buy the t1 gforce shifter and call it a day

But I'd go this route, these cars should have solid mounts in them anyways
I was searching around for one and all I can find is the jegs item. What is it called exactly or if someone has a link to a site with better pricing please post it.
And the transmission stub pieces we make, can't get them from jegs anyways. :p
Thanks for the order, what you're doing will work out great and be very easy to do with the pieces we supply, the stub is designed to fit direct to the joint.

"shifter bits".
minus, of course, my 10% for being a marketing "jean-yoss"...
