check engine light on steady

I was told my check engine light was on cuz I didnt crank the cap on enough, can I reset this myself?

you can try disconnecting the battery. If that doesn't work,then you will have to hook up a scan tool to remove the code.

try jumping the wire to recieve the code. It tells you what the problem is and you can go from there...
