Default over heating/white smoke...

Okay so I did some searching and couldn’t find any info on this matter…

So im in traffic the other day and notice my car start to heat up, only went about half way, so I pull over let it cool down for about an hour, open the rad cap, and top it off with water.

Car runs fine with no issues at all, then about a week later the same thing happens, car starts to get hot, I let it cool down and top it off with water, its happened 3 times now.

Another issue is after driving and I turn the car off for a few min. like to run into 7-11
And I go to start the car it spudders like it wants to die, and I can see a little white some coming out of the exhaust. Now it doesn’t do this when the car is cold, only from time to time after the car has heated up to normal operating temp…

I was thinking it could be the head gasket, but also that I need to do a rad flush because the water/coolant looks dirty, and so does the overflow tank.

Any ideas will help…

Motor is a LSV OBDo block with 95 GSR head ITR pistons. 2000 em1

Thanx guys.

i second the thought of the head gasket. coolant may be leaking also. just get it checked, it'll be far more accurate.
