I have a 99 si with b16a2 and broke the brass fitting the first time now i have it re taped and ready to take a second try and could you use some real advice . any in put would be helpful .

 

Get a sandwich plate adapter for the oil filter. It really is the best way. You can run your oil supply line, if your boosted, along with your pressure gauge.

 

Did you break fitting during install or did it crack from vibration?

what brand gauge are you using? most aftermarket oil pressure sensors are kinda big remote mounting them is a good idea. you can use 1/8npt -> -3an adapter for the block then run a length of -3 hose to the sensor on the firewall. a sandwich plate is another good idea and will let you keep the OE pressure sensor.

Everyone has their own opinions on the "T" fittings but I think it is a sloppy way to install the oil feed line.

Does it work? Yes. Is it the best way? No. If that "T" breaks you are going to be wishing you didn't go that route.

Get a sandwich adapter.

 

I agree against the brass fitting, from personal experience- it was the cheaper alternative but it definitely caused some headaches, stupid fitting broke off in the block... Ended up having to buy an ez out and pulling the broken piece out, it damaged my threads so I had to retap it, now the stock oil pressure sensor barely seals-
