Default D15 i.d.

I have a 1991 sedan lx and about five months ago i put a d15 in it that I bought from a Japanese import motor store. It s a sohc non vtec dfpi. I lost the paper work and now I'm having trouble figuring out wat d15 I actually have. The stamp were the tranny meets the engine only says d15. Any help with i.d.-ing the exact type of d15 I have would be really helpful.

Thank you for your time

I have the same motor. It is just a straight D15b no number after. It came in a lot of Dual carb civics in japan.

Most of the specs i have ever been able to find on the motor have been innacurate though. Most of them say it has 130hp and that is way off.

stop wasting ur time and money on those weak *** motors...i mean they are super reliable but not worth the effort to do anything with them than just to keep them stock...buy a dual cam and call it a day..

for the douchebag above

a 130hp D15B mpfi motor toasts your avereage dual cam b16, and with boltons beats a b18

engine efficiency is a miracle of retards not paying attention to it

if your user id is what you own, then gtf out of the ef forum you troll.

o/p, the motor you have is the same as a d15b1/b2/b7 mechanically. so belts, hoses, water pump, alternator, etc. is the same as the stock motor that was in your car before hand.

if you love all hondas and all the motor offerigs

STFU about swapping

the crx doesnt need torque, its light as hell and goes fast with any motor in it

Light or not, Torque is something worth having. Rather have some than none. And your statement about it going fast with any motor is a bit much. I cant imagine it being very fast with a d15b in it vs a d16z6, Y8 or anything bigger than that.

NO need to apologize, some people are just easily offended. Kudos to you for trying to clarify your intentions.

the JDM d15b has 130hp and dusts d16y8s like they were standing still

I pulled a 14.8 on an internally stock d15b2. had a different cam and was of course switched to MPFI so I could convert to OBD1 chipped p06

spent like 100 bucks overall

much better then stock 16.4 or something

14.8 on a stock single cam seems a bit of an exaggeration. mid 15's to high 15's maybe but high 14's is a bit far fetched to me. Not calling you a liar but you give the impression that anyone can run those ET's with that set up. Maybe in a completely gutted CRX with no hood, doors, no trunk and no driver. But then you'd have to rig it like the delorean In Back to the Future
