Default A/C working intermittantly

i have a 2002 civic the a/c has been working on and off. the a/c has enough freon. i recently did a DTC troubleshooting and found that the blower fan needed to be replaced. replaced it and still not working properly. sometimes while idling the a/c will not work. when i give it rpm's then it will start working. i've checked the fans to see if they turn on while at idle when a/c is on and they do. dont know what else to do. need help

How did you come to the conclusion that you have enough refrigerant? Did you put a gauge on to see how much refrigerant? Intermitting condition or barely cold air usally indicates low refrigerant. Also there is a pressure switch that monitor the system pressure. If too high or low then your AC will not function properly. Possibly the pressure switch. If you're 110% positive that your system has sufficient refrigerant, then you may bypass that switch to check the system for continuous operation.

The problem you descride sounds excatly like a Thermo switch causing the problem...almost every civic I have ever encountered with no A/C or intermitant A/C is because of this switch, It takes the ground away from the compressor clutch if the compressor overheats. Its siliconed into the top of the compressor and you can see it held in place by a small bracket .They get corrosion in them and work off and on. Run car and check for both fans working and check A/C pressure, A/C pressure in a system thats not cycling is around the same temp as outside air( if its 70 out you will have around 80 or so psi)check it with a gauge though. With the A/C switch in the on position check for power to the plug at the compressor. Check to see if the compressor is grounded ok to the engine. Almost garentee thats what it is...If its cold when its working you charge may be ok.
