Yesterday, the passenger side door wouldn't open from the outside. Later on, it wouldn't open from the inside. So now I if I have people in my car, they have to go through the drivers side door. I tried to take the door panel off, but to no avail... I'm afraid of breaking something since I don't know much about cars.

Has anyone had this problem? If so, please let me know the steps to get the panel off and fix the handle.

 

well unfortunately you wont be able to fix it without taking the door panel off.

the panel is held on with clips that will pop off. be sure to first remove screw #20 and the window handle (which is held on with a clip). once its off you can see what is broken

 

I have the same problem, havent figuered it out yet but i was able to pry the door panel and take off the handle to open it w/o damaging it. Im just gunna get a new door mechanism and have the lock re-keyed to my key

 

look through this thread i can almost guarantee it is your problem it happened to both my handles it shows you how to fix it... its a pretty easy fix just one bolt and drilling a small hole through plastic. You can't even see the bolt once your finshed and it wont ever break again
