Parking brake problem 1996 Accord
The button on my parking brake is permanently pushed in and I'm unable to set the brake. When I pull the brake the parking brake light comes on in the dash, but there is not ratchet/lock action on the lever.
Is this something that is a simple fix with the right parts? I would imagine the problem is either the lever itself or something under the armrest. The cable is still attached and has tension.
I park on level ground at work and park the car in my garage so it doesn't really effect my day-to-day routine, but I would like to get it fixed as soon as possible. I have to kind of keep it low profile; my wife may just roll her eyes and ask me why I don't just go get another car since I've done several repairs on this one.
