A question for anyone that drilled lenso's for wheel screws
What did you use as a template to make sure the screws lined up on the inside and outside of the wheel? Also, did you have any issues getting the wheel to balance after you put the screws in?
On a couple sets we drilled. We just drilled right around the bead area and never had issues.
What do you mean the screws line up on the inside and outside? The morosso screws = dismount tire. Drill the holes where you want them. Mount slick. Run the screws in???
Or are you talking front/back?

Use a reference point to start(i.e. valve stem) and drill first hole, then measure equal distance in between rest of screws. Should have around 7 or 8 each side. Then use a piece of tape and transfer mark to inside of rim and continue drilling.
Sounds good Chris. I figure I have a kit of 32 screws so Ill use 8 on each side of the wheels.
Its best on the sidewalls of the tire to have 10-12 screws in each side, i had 10 on each side and had no problems balancing them.

Im just using these wheels for my turbo car for probably 3 events then Ill will be putting 22's on them for an all motor set up and my slicks are pretty old so Im not worried about it as long as they hold out the year.
like scrape a soap bar with the screw or drop some dawn on them? haha
With enough soap, one could blow up just about anything.

when i did my rim screws, i just dismounted tire, laid wheel down on a piece of cardboard, traced it with sharpie, then cut it out, measured the circumference (sp?) of the piece of cardboard and divided that by 10, and then used a punch to transfer the marks to the wheel front and back, using valve stem as a reference point. no problems balancing wheel afterwards.
I got the summit screw kit but someone told me they cracked a lenso before trying to drill them. Has anyone ever seen this happen?
If you run 10 screws per side, I would just draw out from the spoke, so you have 5 lined up. Then measure the other five, to be centered within those, and youll have ten.
If you run 8, you could start by drawing out from the bolt pattern (4x100 assuming), and then center the other 4 between those 4.
