Default H&R Springs on Stock Shocks?

Hey guys, im new to the game and don't know much. Have been reading a lot though and am a little confused. I am on a slight budget so take that into consideration. I know i know cheap suspension= no no, but is it possible to put lowering springs on stock shocks/struts? I don't want to drop the car very much as winter is approaching and just want to drop a little maybe to 2''. Also is there a reference out there that shows the different heights on civics? My budget is around $300 what would be the best combo? Thanks!

You can put lowering springs on stock shocks if you please, but they may not last very long with the drop and increased spring rates.

i dont know of a combo that will fit you budget unless you can find used springs for cheep. There is the eibach sport kit but i think it is still out of your budget.
Dont forget to have your car aligned.

I remember a few years ago i was looking around and found full coilovers from SKUNK2 for roughly $400. Did the prices for suspension jump up within the last 3 years??

How bad are these?

These are a great deal! + Free shipping.

KYB 4 GR-2 GR2

so If I could find some springs for 100-150$ that would be sweet. Or I could ride on my stock springs until the winter is over and then get some good springs next summer :D

those are stock replacement as well.
Check the market place, craigslist and other sites. Used lowering springs pop up every now and again.

Those are oem replacements as well. They are not performance shocks. Im aware people say they have had good results, but a kyb agx, tokico illumnia or even a skunk2 sport shock will do much better.

My friend had them on his car, lowerd with ground controls about 2.5 inches all around. The rear shocks made it about a 2 months and then blew and began to bounch and ride like complete ***.

Do it once, the right way. Replace the shocks with performace shocks. Dont cheep out or you will be replaceing them again soon.

if you're that set on lowering it NOW, just buy good springs and use your stock shocks. once your shocks start to go you'll hopefully have more money to add onto what you have left over from the original 300 and you can just throw on better shocks. it wont be the end of the world, but will be more work, obviously, since youre doing all the work twice as opposed to just saving n waiting.
