6th Gen Accord Caliper Mounting Bolt Torque spec
I looked at Haynes manual and for V6 is 36 in-lbf and 4 cyl is 54 in-lbf. This is the bolt that fastened the caliper sliding pin to the caliper bracket, not the bracket bolt which I know it needs 80 in-lbf.
I'm not sure why the V6 has lower number but it doesn't right to me. I would expect they are at least the same but not lower number on the V6 model.
Which one should I go? is Haynes manual wrong? anyone out there that has genuine honda factory service manual willing to clarify?
Thanks

Maybe so, but the different between the V6 and 4 cyl number still bother me a bit. At the end it's probably didn't matter since the bolt would be under tension when the brake is engaged.
The '98-02 V6 uses a different caliper; I can't recall if it's a Nissin or an Akebono. The slide pins are fitted into the caliper bracket, and the caliper body is then secured to each slide pin by a separate bolt. These bolts are smaller in diameter than the threaded portion of the 4-cylinder model's caliper pins, hence the lower torque specification.
