Does anyone know what size bolts hold the stock exhaust shield to the factory manifold in 95 1.5 Ltr?

The former owner removed it and although I have the shield I do not have the bolts. The car has some overheating issues that I am solving but I want to put this back on to keep as much heat out of the engine bay as possible.

I figure it is a 10 or 12 mm bolt (like nearly everything else on this car) but was hoping someone would be able to verify that for me. Also, are they made of a special material to combat the heat load? I am also guessing that they are coarse thread.

They are m8 x 1.25 thread pitch. 14mm in length. i think any bolt will work. get a higher grade to be safe, 10.9 should be fine.

IMO a missing heat shield is not the cause for your overheating though. what exactly is going on with the car? maybe we could help diagnose the problem

 

no, you are right, I have already diagnosed the overheating issue. I just want to keep the heat away from my AC condensor as much as possible. that thing has to work hard enough as it has been 105 here in North Texas. I also just hate it not being there.
