Default havnt been on here while, want a bigger opinion

okay so iv been on my local forum ctvtec, but for this question i want more input on this.

i know iv had a thread or two asking about ls vtec stuff, now my car is getting pushed to not be done till next spring....(free bronco needs work=winter beater) but yeah now my issue is im going to have all winter to save/work on the motor, i have a b16 head and b18a1 block and internals.

now my question is i would REALLLLY REALLLY like to achieve 250-300 on a reliable nice DD, now should i go turbo, or na? cause if the civic breaks i would be driving the bronco=more money for gas=more time to fix.

so basicly im asking others opinoin on what would aproximate price ranges to achieve a reliable set up in that power range, for both n/a and turbo. car would not be driven in winter, at all, thats what the broncos for, and if that breaks i got a saab too.

_edit_(i forgot to say this too)
and if i go boost i aint ebaying a turbo kit, its gunna be a legit, pieced together turbo set up if you get me.

Sounds like you don't have a clue as to what those numbers actually mean. a 250hp all-motor Civic is completely different than a 300hp turbo Civic.

First and foremost, you're not hitting 250 wheel hp all-motor unless you're spending $15k on a k-series like one of those import magazines made five years ago.

With your little LSVTEC idea, you should be able to slap a $700 turbo kit on it, run 12psi, get a good tune and have a reliable 300 whp without emptying your life savings.

It would behoove you to learn a thing or two about the differences in all-motor and turbocharged cars before you start spending money because it's obvious you're in the overwhelming majority of "tuners" who think they know what they want and start buying **** only to realize months later that they haven't the time, money or skill needed to make it work.

Reading H-T is free and will do more than most of the parts you think you want.

Thread titles MUST be subject specific so that members browsing topics can understand the tech problem for which an answer is sought without reading the post:
