so i have a gt30r gsr im bringing to the rtack for the first time. gonna be running 24.5x8 MT slicks with a 2 step set at 5k rpms. what pressure should my slicks be around, ive never used slicks so i have zero experience with launching with them and the pressure to set them at

Do you have axels?
If so i would say 6.5psi. If not i would say 8psi

I have had my best 60's with 6.5psi on my M/H 24.5s.

 

most will say 6.5 but the torqueless wonder b16 i had before, liked a high rpm 7.5 almost 8 psi launch for the best 60' i got. this was on a single stage boost control also.

you need to play with it, where it bogs out and increase a little accordingly.

but 6.5 psi seems to be the norm. thats where i am with mine.

 

2 step at 5k, how much boost on the launch? if it is a straight 2 step, at 6.5 psi its going to fall hard. if you are using antilag you may be able to power through it.

again on my old setup, straight 2 step, i started at 7k, 6.5psi and played with it there. it fell so hard on its face. so went 7k with 7 psi, bog but not as bad. i was on 24.5x8.5x15, found higher launch with about 7.5 ~ psi worked well. 8200 and 7.5 netted me best on that old setup.

now with a little tq, antilag, and staged boost control, im like 8500~ at 6.5 psi. (small turbo hahaa compared to the big dogs.) i just think the b16 gearing is hurting me now.

 

hmmm ok... ill start at 8 psi and bring it down to 7 and check my 60 ft's see how i do.... i can get around 8-10 psi in 2 step.

 

thats a good thing, old setup i got 5-7 at 8000rpm. thats the only way. every car is a little bit different.

 

turn your 2 step up. 6600-7000rpm to start. 5000 is too low you are going to bog.

 

yep, just start at 8 and and drop till you find what works best that day.

 

I always start at 8 and work my way down. 5k launch is not going to help either. Look at something like 6.5-7k.

 

we run 6psi on my friends MH's, not sure if its the best psi but he like it so w/e... they got an easy 100 passes on them and they still cut low 1.7's lol

 

i was running 6.5-7psi, and launching at 7200 well somehow it was falling back to 4500 at launch lol needless to say 1.8-1.9 was my norm. I bumped it up to 7600-7300, and started killing the tires at launch dropped to 6psi still killing them. So tonight is round 2 with dropping my 60'

I ran 10.6 with a 1.82 60'

 

just takes time to dial it in... part of the fun. haha
