I was looking at the S2000 alternator and noticed that it looks a lot like the civic one but i think it's rated 105Amps instead of 70Amps.

Since I do have a spare s2k alternator, i was thinking of installing it into the civic. Does anyone know if it's compatible or if there are any potential problems w/ using an s2k alternator in our cars?

I wonder if alternator pulley size might be an issue. I'm not sure what rpm the alternator should be spinning at during idle, but i have a feeling that it will change if installed into a civic. The F20c in an s2k idles around 950rpm...


oops made a mistake in the title..it should read..."Will any other Honda alternator fit into a 7th gen?"

 

I could be wrong here.. But I believe the f20c spins the opposite direction. I'm not entirely sure if that would matter in a new alternator, but a used one will certainly have issues as the wear inside will be directional and will not like spinning the other way under load.

 

hmmm...but it'll still function properly...

but speaking of rotation direction, do you know if our alternators have a fan on it?
