Default dynamat 96-00 civic question

car: 98 civic coupe
product: infinity reference 6.5" components

question:

how should i apply dynamat?

the front speakers on a 96-00 civic is mounted on the DOOR PANEL and not the door itself.

if i was to apply dynamat, would i apply it around the speaker (on door panel) or should i apply it to the door shell?

im looking to just purchase the door kit which provides me with 2 small sheets.

i dont want to apply dynamat on the whole door skin just because it is expensive.

You still want to apply strips to the door skin and the inner door frame. It will make a difference. The door frame and skin vibrating actually cancels a lot of mid-bass and bass. You get cleaner, deeper bass and mid-bass if you do this. Seems a lil overboard at first but it works. same for the rear deck speakers. You don't have to plaster the rear deck and trunk, but put strips across the whole thing and you'll be amazed what a difference it makes.

I would not do strips, Atleast do around the speaker in a solid fourm. You can see how its done on the instructions. Doing strips is half azz, here is my lade. Midbass was incrediable. I have not done my own honda yet as I not sure what I am going to do with the car.

I added over 300 pounds of it. The car was quiet as hell and there was a absent of road noice. The inner door was done as the outer. Complete suv was stripped to bare and treated. Also if you go that far and you get a dent. Its a pia to fix that dent correctly.

The suv is far from over done. Its done the way I wanted and performs the way I wanted and intended to. No road noice, engine noice, No rattles from the bass or anything. So I can say we hit our goal. And its a perfect demo car. And you can here the difference between my truck and a stock one vs aftermarket speakers.

cool thanks for the replies.

the only difference between my situation and that lade is that your speakers are mounted directly on the door shell while mine are mounted onto the door panel.

NOT MY CAR!

i guess im going to start with it on the door panel and if im not satisfied, the door shell will have it too

thanks!
