Engine starts.. But only with a jumpstart
Hey everyone, I bought a '91 CRX Si today, and the one problem I have is it only starts when jump started. I'm guessing theres a wire not getting enough juice or the batter, but does anyone have any other ideas what it may be?
once it's running check and see what voltage you're getting. if it's below 13.5 then your alternator is not charging the battery. if the voltage is above that however then it may be that the battery is toast. also check your grounds. chassis to front of engine, chassis to tranny, and main engine harness to thermostat. then check the power feed wire coming right off the alternator. make sure it's not loose or broken.
Could you tell me the tests, this is my first car and I'm working on getting it better. And yes it's a d16z6.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, will check everything tomorrow

There are only three things that could be the cause:
1. Dead battery.
2. Bad contacts (corrosion) between the battery and the wiring.
3. The alternator is bad and doesn't charge up the battery.
