In short, it's emission control. As the generations proceed, the emissions controlls on cars get more strict and a lot tougher to work around. OBDI isn't bad, but I hear a lot of people bitch about OBDII.

obdI is 95 and older.
obdII is 96 and newer.
and yes lots of people bitch about obdII, me included, thats why with my swap i converted to obdI.

easy just order a harness from me and then plug and play.. pull the harness and your obd2 (stock) again .. woah simple
