B18a1 swap help...
Alright, i got a 90 crx dx. Swapped the d15 and put in a b18. I followed this website (http://hondacrx881.tripod.com/mpfiswap.html) to deal with the wiring. almost certain my cousin and i did it right but when i tried starting it up today, nothing... lights were on, check engine light was going crazy, once i switched the key to on, i heard something clicking and sounded like it was under the dash and the ecu light was flashing. i dont hear the fuel pump go on either.. im not sure what the problem is. everything is connected besides the o2 sensor cause i couldn't find mine but thats it. help please...

Im pretty sure I know what it is.
I had the same problem when I was doing a swap.
You need to find all the ground wires, I think there should be three. one goes to the head cover, one goes to the tranny and the last one goes on the back side of the motor on the passenger side of car and it should connect to the water pump.
If any of those are not hooked up then it will do that and will not start, it makes that noise because it is trying to tell you something is not right.
if you need any more info let me know and let me know if that fixes it. thanks

YESS!! i seen a ground back there near the water pump but i wasnt sure where it hooked up at! thank you! i will try that in the morning and hopefully that would work.. thank you a lot!
Well no luck. That ground cable i seen did help out with the check engine light but yet nothing. Everything was on all the lights, heard the fuel pump this time, still hear the starter clicking, but no crank or anything.. i am not sure what the problem is. im guessing its the wiring but i went over every step 3 times..

the last ground the guy above was talking about is not near the waterpump, that's by the timing belt. i can only assume he was referring to the thermostat housing. and yes it's extremely important that that ground be hooked up.
at this point is your CEL on?
also, you should keep in mind that the no cranking issue is directly related to the starter itself, ignition switch, and the main power/ground wires, and nothing else. i say this so you know that the ecu and mpfi wiring is not a reason for it to not be cranking. you could remove the ecu and set it on the trunk and the car will still crank over.

cel = check engine light.
the starter clicking might simple be that the solenoid is failing. i've had this issue on both my honda's. replaced 3 remans and now the brand new starter is doing it to. it's really getting annoying at this point.

Or you could quick fix that by just hitting the starter with something. My truck does that sometimes and it starts right up.
Yeah it clicks. nothing is lose at all. Yeah im thinking about just getting a new starter cause this whole engine has been a damn pain. A problem always with my car..
your using a B-series starter right? if so have you checked to make sure your getting a good connection on the starter signal wire (female terminal connected at the solenoid)?
sorry i had to ask. i know on my old harness the terminal connecting to the starter would make a crappy connection and from time to time it would slide off. so every now and again i would have to reconnect the terminal to get my car started.
alright is cranking now but not starting.. have no idea what the problem could be now except the distributor wiring. anyone know exactly what it is? i just matched it all up. even did the CPS wires.
